Interview Questions

Some basic things one needs to know about oneself before entering the 'Interview Room'

  • Strengths (At least three.....the more the merrier)
  • Weaknesses (Again three at least...more the merrier is not the case for this one)
  • Things you are very passionate about doing ( Could be a hobby or something that you plan to make a living of)
  • Your Long Term and Short Term goals
  • Why do you want to do an MBA
  • An explanation for your bad/average academic performance ( If that is the case )
These questions should be fine for starters

Have any queries you can post your comments here

Interviews

The best way to crack your CET interview would be to work on the questions given in the Questionnaire. The questionnaire will be handed over to you as soon as you enter the GD/PI room, being prepared beforehand will help you go a long way in the interview as you can be prepared for questions and counter questions coming your way.
Wish you all the best!!!
Have any queries do feel free to post them in the comments

MBA CET GD/PI kicks off the traditional way

The written test brought along with it a whole lot of surprises but the GD/PI was conducted in the same old traditional way it used to be done before.A questionnaire was to be filled up before the entire process began.A few GD topics which came in today were:-

  • India or West?Which place provides you more opportunities?
  • Is US justified in declaring war against Iraq?
  • Is the UN acting as a catalyst for the peace process?
  • Should Water Resources be nationalised?
The Questionnaire handed over at the beginning had the following things apart from Educational Qualifications
  • Family Background
  • Academic Awards And Achievements (If-Any)
  • Extra Curricular Activities
  • Which event according to you has been the most significant event of the last decade.
  • What according to you should be done to see that India emerges as a global power in the 21st century
  • What are your Strengths & Weakness
  • What makes you feel that you that you will make a successful manager

Personal Interview Gyaan

Personal Interview as it rightly suggests is about understanding one's persona and hence a lot of commonly raised questions about oneself need to be answered before one faces the real interview panel.A few commonly asked asked questions in your B-School interviews are listed below

  • Tell me something about yourself
This is as open ended as a question can get,you need to choose your words carefully.Because what you talk about in this question is what will determine the overall direction of your interview to a great extent. Therefore direct the interview panel to your comfort zones using this question.Keep your language as simple as possible and avoid using a lot of business jargon unless and until you are truly aware of what you are talking about. This question can do more harm than good if not handled cautiously.
  • Why MBA?
The most commonly asked question in your B school interviews, which appears rather simple at first glance but requires a great amount of introspection on why you as an individual are interested in doing an MBA.The most common answer to this question would be "Better pay packages" and "Faster Growth",now let us assume for a moment that you are the interviewer and not the interviewee ,how fascinated will you be by coming across such a innovative and novel answer to such a cliche type question(I hope you understand that it was a joke). So try and think hard of what are your reasons for doing an MBA and not why the world around you does an MBA.
